I WANT TO BE FREE

I want to be free

But a free woman in this world

Is a difficult thing to be

"Ah, a free woman," they say:

Is gonna be a flirt

With the shortest skirt

Cavorting with men

Walking right into their den

Irresponsible, immoral,

Ready to pick a quarrel,

Disrespectful and improper,

She's is a houseful of horror!"

I falter and I say, "...Ah but that's not what I want to be,

All I want to be is Free!"
