I'll Fight

For eyes closed or open wide,

I hate my reflection, I hate my light,

I envy the dark, I long for the quiet,

For each minute as the clock sings,

It's a new sorrow and a new fight,

For the road stretches to the far beyond,

A thousand eyes who stare and appall,

This walking shadow that has stuck to me,

I despise what is mine,

A part of me. 

A part that has suffered, a part that whines,

A part that has taken over my smile,

A part that latches to the moments that I like,

A part that has to lead me to my broken insides.

That shows me my feet over a ledge and a cliff,

That shows me the blades held tight to my wrists,

That shows me a noose over the never-ending mist,

That shows me dark waters with depths unkissed,

That asks me to step

That asks me to jump. 

That asks me to breathe this water in my lungs,

That asks me to suffer

That asks me to rage,

That asks me to lock my own voice in this cage,

But I won't jump, I won't slit,

I won't move, I won't slip,

I'd stand tall over the dark cliffs,

As I move back from this black abyss,

On the road now with all I've got,

Stabbing the eyes that laughed and appalled,

As I move to the lap of my parent's insight,

My friends and family, who burn for my light,

Even amidst the darkest of hours

Illuminated In their eyes, 

I'll keep trying, I will fight...
