Human Nature

At times in life I feel

Right choices I have made

But then I start to see

Those choices weren't meant to be.

The regrets that often stem

From bad choices in my life

Makes me feel unworthy

To live a better life.

So now I take a step

Towards healing all my regrets

And hope that one day

I'll be a better human being.

I can't be like anyone

I am not like them

When closely I examine, I begin

To understand why I am the person that I am.

So many people walk unto my life

Yet lonely isolation weighs over mirth

When lonesome desires cross my minds

It's a faithful companion I wish to find

Yet when company sounds an irksome tone

I wish to leave and be all alone.
