Heroes
Heroes
~A poem dedicated to the new age Heroes.
Unlike the medieval stories, but braver than any we knew~
What a hero looks, the books painted a forgotten picture,
Never did imagine, that sweet friend will now hold the armour.
Serving and saving one and all, no words enough for gratitude,
My friend, your smile, bravery and humility, speak for you.
Fighting as the sunrises, fighting throughout the dark,
The masks leave the scars, no time to bother the cuts and mark.
The
adamant who still are about, with them you smile with patience,
Duty bound to fly, you still think, "My countrymen, my friends".
Leaving the children at home, the love of life behind,
You try to keep'em indoors, their folly flusters, you still are kind.
Scars on your face, be badges of pride and honour,
I live in separation as I think of you, my spur your Valour
Holding the forts, serving while you risk the life in you,
My nascent Heroes, we write stories now, and histories new.
