Fireflies

Fireflies

I wandered around in a lonely night,

 And everywhere just darkness lies.

I saw a torch of shimmering light,

From a flock of shining fireflies.

Around the trees along the breeze,

Meeting to solve, who knows what mysteries

Shinning were they, with a golden glaze.

And never had I seen this sight, not once

The brilliance of which amazes a poet,

mesmerizing me with that radiance.

Tiny are they so small in size

light up the woods, a million fireflies.

Continuous in flight, so largely bright

And miles from site but I could see.

Though not Christmas, feels about right

Enjoyed the night with their company.

And each one of you gets the winning prize

So proud of you, you dancing fireflies.

Up in the heavens the stars that shine,

And the moon so bright with jealousy sighs.

The tiny creatures when fall inline,

Beauty of the moon, now no one buys Loud and clear.

It so implies Stars of the land,

you fireflies Behold them together dancing in joyous mood.

And Being alone I need someone,

Thinking why am I in such solitude;

Wandering why was I born as a human?

And being in slumber I close my eyes,

A dreamy night just passing by, Stood there watching

And I Wish I were a firefly,

Wish I were a firefly.
