Family: The Real Wealth
Family: The Real Wealth
Drenched with sweat, overwhelmed by spurious debt
Competing in rat race, leaving behind serene pace
Serene pace of emotions of family, sweet
Aura of friends, so, surreal and lovely.
Gone are the days, when teachers punished us,
OUTSTANDING, we were, always out of class,
Waiting the very moment, when crush would pass.
First proposal, long wait at landlines,
Just to hear that missed call ring from her,
Missing dinner deadlines.
Fear of exams, diligent day and night.
Finally selected, in entrance
WELCOME TO RAT RACE MY BHAI.
GONE ARE THE DAYS, when we enjoyed, hot
Chapatis BY maa,
Her slaps on my escapades,
Her silents blessings, MANDIR OF HOME,
Filled with elated aroma.
Sturdy father, my navigator,
Soothing siblings,
Like in stories of Sir RUDYARD KIPLING.
Driving my Honda today alone,
Tired reaching home,
When rest are venturing in their dreamy "Rome".
My purse filled with rupee,
Debit card, with money uncountable.
Family, is real wealth, i realise,
Being poor, gasping for love unconditional.
