Empty Pocket

Empty Pocket

7.1K

It used to be

empty sometime

Or filled with sand,

marble or lime

Used to walk with

hands in my empty pocket

Swaying my legs freely

kicking a stone or a broken socket

Such was my childhood

when my pants asked for no belts

to stay on

As my pocket was empty

and I used to say

Bring it on !!

Days passed by and

my pocket asked for

coins and notes

Said the world is harsh

understand it now or

learn later by rote

Slowly my pocket got

used to currency

I thought life will be

easy now, as I fancy

This thought stayed

for short, as it was alone

My pocket got introduced

to a mobile phone

Such was the impact

people got lost in

phones, to feel, to say,

to express or to react

My pocket started to

feel burden, to carry

this device always

As our lives got engrossed in it

by all ways

My pocket became heavy

as it carried an alternate

life daily

I had to tighten my belts

to face the world, really

Wonder sometimes can I

get my empty pocket again ?

Want to sway my legs freely

down the memory lane
