Dear Mumma
Dear Mumma
Nine months, nine long months
You carried me on your womb,
You taught me never to shriek when I fall from a tall dome.
You fed me from your gentle chest,
And on my cheeks sweet kisses pressed.
You taught me how to close my eyes,
When pain in world and sickness made me cry.
You dressed me like a doll in gay,
You taught my bairn lips to pray,
And Gods holy book and day,
You taught me to choose the wisdom's way.
You loved my scars and healed my pain,
Taught me how tussle in the gale.
You taught me how to break the cordons around me,
And cradle my wings on the breeze.
You said I can soar to the utmost reach,
With rapture , power and ease.
You taught me how to be gracious at odd times,
Spreading zeal all round with euphoric rhymes.
Mother , Oh Mother!
I am blessed to have you by my side,
You are my forever,
Forever I’ll abide .
