Daffodil
Wayfarer
Wayfarer, wayfarer I am,
Traveling from one end of the earth to another.
Wayfarer! Yes, wayfarer I am,
A vagrant who whirls around
With his burden of weal & woe on the head.
Wayfarer I am set out
In search of an unknown spot,
Towards mountains, to polar end,
Towards jasmine woods at the wild bend,
Through the impassable desert aloft
Combating mirage & simoom hot......
Aimless vagrant am I?
A baffled one, that’s why?
A tramp without any aim in heart
Targeting a place known not?
Family, abode & companion?
I don’t have anyone.
The destitute array of clouds many
Are my associate honey.
I have an apartment in my hand
Not bound by brick, stone & sand;
Not like a snail self-centered
It spread out, taciturn, vast world,
Composed my abode by a sweet hand.
Wayfarer I am, a mad
Like a vagabond nomad.
That’s why, in search, I go around
Hunting ups & down
In the sky & heaven
Also in the bottomless nether world.
