Curtained Waterscape - By Dibyasree Nandy
Petals tumbling, hues in a cascade;
In the far distance, trees of jade;
A violet curved bridge with ivy snaking;
The shimmering lake with water-lilies drifting.
Reeds close to the sloping bank;
Dotted with red, white and moss that sank;
Like a mermaid’s long tresses
And aquamarine dresses;
The stream glistens turquoise and sapphire;
Silvery ripples murmuring… the strums of a lyre.
As the day bids farewell, the heavens are painted orange and peach;
Sprinkles of bygone rain out of reach.
