Curfew or Care For You

It's not curfew

It's CARE FOR YOU

When I sit in my balcony sipping my tea

When I see the express highway empty

When I hear birds chirping

When I see Indian Flag waving high

Makes me feel the city liveable today

There is peace everywhere, in this moment of fear

A part of me truly wants this to stay,

Making this city liveable once again, just the fear away.

Isn't it time enough that we wake up from this deep sleep we humans have been in.

It's unfortunate that it took a deadly virus and a stern lockdown

To take a glimpse of all that mother nature has to offer.

For time and again, we choose Money and Luxury over true happiness

Which was right there at our doorstep.

Just that we never looked beyond the materialistic things

Which we have converted into needs by choice.

When we are all sharing these beautiful videos:

IThe clear sight of the mountains right from our windows,

n search of which we travelled far away lands

The dancing dolphins right at the sea shores, in search of which we crossed oceans

The chirping birds all through the day, for which we trekked forests

The elephants, the peacock, the monkeys on the streets,

Bringing us one step closer realising coexistence.

The breath of the fresh air and time well spent with the people that truly matter in our lives,

Isn't this we all have actually prayed for?

I hope this time it's not just about making viral videos, likes and subscriptions.

I realise that lives are at stake and the pandemic is spreading too.

But life anyways didn't come with a warranty.

At least, we are all in this together not as a community, not as a nation,

But as a race - the Human Race.

We are figuring out ways to survive , and well we are.

Give this a thought,

We all had technology in place to communicate anywhere in the world,

But we insisted on face to face communication in most of the cases.

Was it required every-time, could it be avoided, could work be done without travel??

Imagine now, we are all getting accustomed and pretty much fine with the tech - communication and the work is done.

There is a work-life balance. There is life beyond work. There is life beyond humans too.

So what I'm actually afraid of is falling apart again.

Let's pledge not to fall apart,

Let's ensure we don't behave ignorantly again,

Let's promise for a better tomorrow,

Let's continue not to over do ourself's,

Let's realise and live in coexistence,

Let's be together as a human race.

Or else, we will again fall into our own created trap - the rat race

And never will be able to cherish the fruits of mother nature.
