Crack of dawn

Crack of dawn

I woke up one morning,

The clock just striked 7,

It was the weekend and i felt frustrated for having woken up early on a weekend,

Tried to go back to sleep,

But there weren't any sleep left in my eyes

Decided to wake up and move to the kitchen,

Poured some coffee,

It was the starting of January and it is still cold,

I felt a chill and decided to curl up in my bed and finish the coffee,

Opened the window and blinds,

And went to sit on the bed,

The blanket was still warm and as I sat,

I saw the soft sunshine creep inside from the window,

It was unexpected.

In the cold there was suddenly this beautiful ray of sunshine,

The coffee suddenly tasted like Aphrodite stirred it with her finger,

Filling the dark cup with love and beauty,

I smiled.

Suddenly the anger of being up at crack of down melted with the sugar in my coffee,

And as I sat there sipping my coffee,

Gazing at the sunlight,

I could almost feel it's warmth.

It caused my mind to stop all the thoughts that rushed through it one after the other,

I was peaceful,

Noticing the little things.
