Clothes And Pheromones

Clothes And Pheromones

We are attached to our clothes

As if they've beating, breathing souls of their own.

They are storehouses of memories, of touches, tears and kisses.

The guy I went out with on my first date wore a crisp navy shirt and since then 'blue has been the warmest colour'.

But I lost the onion coloured skirt that covered my trembling/quivering thighs as he touched my lips with his.

The school uniform which we loathed to put on early mornings are now priceless relics.

Once I dated a guy in college who fell head over heels for me.

I bet it was the pheromones that I had left on his tee.

When we give away our clothes,

We give away moments we have lived and laughed,

Maybe carefully tucked inside the pockets and trickling down the linings.

But we must never forget that old memories have to go to make room for new ones

And old clothes need to go to keep little children warm in winters.
