Bluish-green

We sat on the bench by the lake 

A day like any other 

But an afternoon that felt different 

You looked at the sky 

That gave the water its blue 

And the green from the trees 

By the lake that added a hue 

We sat on the bench by the lake 

A moment that wasn't new 

And yet it reeked of nostalgia 

You watched the lake 

While I watched you 

You asked me 

"How many colours do you see?" 

That's when I saw 

One I'd never seen 

The colour from the sky met the colour from the trees in your eyes 

And made a Bluish-green
