Beauty-

How does one define it?

It's too common a word,

One whose meaning is blurred.

It's often mistaken for something else,

An identity which is forged;

Due to our own misunderstanding,

It's given names that are longstanding.

It has many faces,

Different for all,

But no one has quite known,

How much its aliases have grown.

It's quite misunderstood;

We all interpret it diversely,

But no one has quite understood,

its true meaning-so long forgotten.

We tend to shape its meaning,

Blinded by our own greed,

To become a person so perfect;

To hide any natural defect.

It has been tossed around,

Bended by everyone,

But there is one-

Which shapes our own understanding of it.

It's this very society we live in,

Created by our own culture,

Upheld by our own fears-

Fear; of being deemed an alien to our own lands,

And to be seen in tears.

It has meddled in the truth,

One which is Universal,

It has tried to force us to follow its rules

Or be excluded from love-Oh! So cruel!

In these dark times,

One must not forget,

That we must live our lives

In our own way-unaffected by anyone.

We must not fail to remember,

That our life is our choice,

Our rules, our way,

To have the happiness to display.

Beauty- not merely a word,

Not a feeling, not an emotion;

It is the Supreme Truth,

Of life itself-to live through its youth.

It means our own inner happiness,

Our own unrestrained joy;

To live life on our own terms

And to do things we most desire.

It means freedom,

Uncontrolled,

To not live life

Like someone has foretold.

Yet it's complicated,

It's meaning is too deep,

For our own understanding-

After all, we are just the pawns of life.

Does it mean to lose all hope-

To understand life itself?

Or to let ourselves be controlled-

To truly know ourselves?

Does it mean being narcissistic?

Or to be cruel?

To be sad?

Or to be evil and bad?

Its meaning is truly beyond our grasp,

But there is hope-

To understand it fully,

And to enlighten us all truly.
