As I'm A Tree

As I'm A Tree

Urbanization, Industrialization,

Big people, big projects,

Modern societies, high rise buildings,

Broad, clean, concrete roads,

No dirt, no birds, no dry leaves,

Filthy fallen fruits, seeds,

I know you can vouch for,

That no one is on a killing spree,

I'll die myself,

As I’m a tree.

You like wooden furniture,

You need wooden almirahs,

You love false ceilings,

And plywood wall work,

Wooden bridges, Wooden artwork,

You need wood, but not me,

As I’m a tree.

You like golf courses,

You dream farm houses,

Big malls, broad parkings,

You don’t want jungles,

Which Spoil posh looks,

Scare your kids,

I shall perish even if u don’t kill me,

As I’m a tree.

You need marble for floors,

Stones, sand, land for construction,

Innocent, ignorant, harmless creatures,

You have not cut a single tree,

You pay for everything, which I can give you free,

But I need land for me,

As I’m a tree.

You keep doing good,

Development and prosperity,

Mobiles, towers, electricity poles,

High tension cables,

Trees are risky,

Difficult to maintain,

I want to explain,

But l can’t do the same,

I don’t need you, you need me,

As I’m a tree.
