An Ode to Your Parents

Won't they be mad?

When your "same, plain" self-pitying phase's gotten out of hand? 

Won't they be saddened?

Watching you drive yourself off the emotional bend?

Won't they be exasperated?

With you treating yourself like you deserve to be berated?

Won't be they frightened?

What with you always thinking it was a dead-endpush?

Won't they feel pushed away?

While you believe along the lonely wind you'll finally sway?

Because, the truth, whether you believe it or not,

Is that they are the best things your life's got,

And whether you choose to respect their feelings is up to you,

But just know, that they'll always be there to catch you, even if you fall out of the blue.
