An Ex-Wife's Letter

An Ex-Wife's Letter

When you left me went for her,

My world turned blue and all my stars,

‎Suddenly darkened I saw death,

I didn’t blame you, ‎blamed my fate.

In our small home, you were the soul,

I was the soul-mate and my goal,

To keep you happy and take all pain,

So, I let you go, not once blamed.

Season of Fest, when earth would glow,

All were upbeat, I felt low

You at Europe, your new home

I did spend all night alone.

We had two daughters, soft and sweet,

You didn’t raise them, you sent gift,

High value bank cheques, off and on,

They felt “Dad’s great, bad is Mom.”

With your new girls, you did fly,

(You) asked for fame, they helped to buy,

With reckless passion you courted them

I felt a mix of shame and pain

Success knocked you, you met press

But not named me at any stage

As your friend or even ex- wife

Seemed I'm an alien in your life.

Now summer is gone and winter near

More than fame, you need some care

You seek your old pals, want to share

The joyful green days, memories rare.

You thought of me, your Hindu wife

As per script, who, not one life

Is married to you in all the seven

And die for you for a seat in Heaven.

Now a days you talk of me

Send flight tickets to accompany thee

But (you) put me on a long wait call

Waiting made me lose it all.

Oh my ex-hubby, the man I loved

A restless dreamer, who loved new stuff

A bit selfish and crazy for fame

But won’t play ever the emotion game.

So walk your path now, slow steady pace

You, a big man, don’t lose grace

You have followers to fill the gap

Brooding over me don’t lose nap.

Strange it seems, but it is true,

More than my fate it is you,

Broke my heart and set me free,

I came close with maker of me.
