An ode to my grandma
I can’t imagine what it feels like to forget
Who I am,
My family,
Even how to eat.
Just have to memories melt away over time.
I do know what it feels like to be forgotten by,
A role model,
Storyteller,
And a frequent tea party attendant.
Nannie, you have taught me how to
Laugh, stay out of trouble, and how to live.
Sometimes life isn’t fair
I’ll never forget who you were
Before you lost the fight to Alzheimers
