A Smile In The Midst Of War

There was a fine twist of despair 

ambushed somewhere, she felt inward, 

even during her attempts

 to be in sweet talks and pastime pranks

 with her family and friends. 

For the first time 

the silence brewed pain. 

She finds herself battling with her thoughts, 

and smothered by her warring head 

and overweighed heart. 

Her breath can't hideaway 

from the air, 

that her smile can't deceive her heart.

Then as always, she says, 'it's okay.
