A Shadow Over Me

Unfolding a new chapter of a new journey today,

As you take your maiden step on a new way,

I stand here, expressing everything you made me feel -

You were  pillar of strength, a touch to heal,

With unconditional warmth & a love so true,

That caring daughter I saw, growing up with you,

A wonderful wife you've been too,

An ideal daughter-in-law, I see in you.

You've been the best friend to me,

You're as good a sister, as one could be.

Growing up, we didn't always agree,

But isn't that how sisters are supposed to be?

All the fun & laughter we had,

When together, we never sad.

With giggles were full our affair,

When there was a secret to share.

And I times I'd be mad,

Over the silliest of demands you had.

Still we shall laugh together as years go by,

For I know that whenever dark days are nigh,

You'll always stand by my side,

Encouraging me to face troubles I never had to hide.

A special bond, a relation so true,

Special for me, and for you.
