A Plebeian'S Infraction

 

In left Auricle
Or right Ventricle
Hyped "Theatrical"

To Mannered Ears: a comical cry,
A screech. At the worst.
Sucked bone-dry of emotions--he--
"She wuz jus' passin' by"

Hung to dry. 
On a clothesline

Drained.

Blood flow resignedly ebbing..
Dumped from the cerebral heights--
The prim "Victorian" scornful

What if the beat
Was erratic?--a foolish heart!

Cause and effect be damned
The Bohemian aspirant
Metamorphosed
Into a foolish knave!

The tantalizing temptress:
Now disdainful, ascends
The higher moral grounds

The friends murmur 
And finally concur:
" She was not meant to stay--"

" His heart bled for her. "
Crimson Red.
But Blue would have made the difference.
