A Parrot'S Experiment With Truth
A Parrot'S Experiment With Truth
Once upon a time,
Prior to the birth of Crime and Punishment,
There lived a white beard saint,
Who chanted many spiritual hymns and rhymes.
He bought a black cage,
In which kept a green parrot,
a perfect example Of Human Bondage.
Parrot’s name was Kim,
For her, the saint was God of small things.
Albeit, her life was full of disgrace.
Passing through Razor’s Edge.
The white beard saint
Offered daily to Kim
Foods, Cakes and Ale.
But for Kim, the cage was like a jail.
The Parrot Kim, was born free,
Like the sage, You or Me!
At full month’s twelfth night,
To the sage, Kim told all about her life,
Spent in that bonded cage.
Kim said, “Till now I have not seen any hamlet or the village,
For me is everything and even paradise lost”?
Kim’s sayings hurt the saint,
Like that of black arrow,
At Once he felt Kim’s sorrow.
Sage said “ no my dear Kim,
I have realised your sorrow,
Wishing you all the best,
For your Brighter Tomorrow.”
It is my experiment with truth,
Let’s now both of us preach for
Fraternity and Brotherhood.
Saying this, the sage – opened the cage,
And said go my dear Kim go,
Kim moved chanting Westward Ho!
With wings being unfurled,
She was carrying Midsummer Night’s Dream,
to Round the World in Eighty Days
Via Passage to India or Passage to England,
Or surprisingly was she searching for any
Treasure Island?
