A Letter From Heaven

A Letter From Heaven

To my dear lady,
First of all, I would like to say,
That I have just arrived on my destination.
The journey was okay.
A place where angels reside and beautiful flowers grow,
A place, miles above grief. A place, void of sorrow.

There was a shortage of angels in God’s lawn,
He looked down the Earth and picked up an ailing one.
“Welcome back home!” He smilingly greeted me with great pleasure,
He introduced me to his flight of angels as a priceless treasure.

He gave me a list of works to do,
First of all, He asked me to take care of you.
Don’t well your eyes up with drops of dew,
I have just become an invisible person, always watching you.

Please ask my mum not to shed a tear,
Ask my sister not to bemoan, staring at her brother’s empty chair.
Tell my dad that his son was a fighter,
In the night sky, he shines as the brightest star.

Share with me your grief, your thoughts, your fear,
As you would do when I was physically near.
I am not far, I have just shifted to a room so new,
Unseen, unheard, I shall be walking, just half a step behind you.

Into bliss, I’ve had a dip, of eternity, I’ve had a sip,
I shall hug you as you weep, place my arms around you as you sleep.
Don’t shed tears thinking that you have life that was denied to me,
I’ve attained serene immortality. From mundane cacophony, I am free.

The poisonous tumour consumed me entirely, so, nothing could the doctors do,
I had to leave the world suddenly, before I could bid good bye to you.
Death, my friend, acted like the powder of Dover,
Life, a foe, only made me suffer of an incurable fever.

Dialling my number repeatedly, will only leave you pained,
As nobody is going to say, “Hello Sweetheart”, from the other end.
That much of life was granted to me by my fate,
People say, one is immortal, if one’s lover is a poet.

Do not cry for me as tear drops that roll down your cheeks
Are like thorns of cactus penetrating my soul and so peace is what I seek.
When your soul feels bruised, just keep a red rose on my grave,
The same flower, for which, to me, you would always crave.

Had there been phone in Heaven, I would have called you up,
I would have informed you that I am all right and we would meet in your nap.
Do not beg God to have me back. Your efforts will be in vain,
Find comfort, as, with each passing day, you’ll be a day closer, when we’ll meet again.

P.S. LET ME SEE THE WORLD THROUGH YOUR EYES,
REACH THE HEIGHTS OF SUCCESS. SHINE, AS SOON AS YOU RISE.
