A Date

My heart's racing like

It's a hundred metres sprint

And energy that of Usain Bolt

Nervousness is brimming out of me

As it's my first time ever

Ever out on a date,

Not with a guy or friends

A date with that one person

Who means the world to me

Yes, I am out with myself

And that's more nerve-wracking

Now that I am sitting all by myself

There is a feeling of excitement

My body is calming down like

Cheese melting on a Margherita pizza

I am looking

out of the window

Seeing unknown faces

With no life at all, on them

Yet, I feel no less than "myself"

This is a new experience, making

Me more than happy to be here

As I have never thought of being

On my own, out, eating with myself

Always desiring a company

But, being on a date with myself

Is now off my bucket list for now

And satisfaction is immensely

Shining like the stars at night

I will be waiting like a kid

To go out again the way I just did.
