In the pulsating world of styling and fashion, how we look and the attitude we wear, takes us where we want to go.
In this episode, we are joined by celebrity stylist and fashion entrepreneur Akanksha Savanal, Founder of inclusive fashion brand - A Curve Story.
Akanksha noticed a vacuum in the fashion industry where curvy women, femme, and non-binary individuals do not have enough options to truly represent themselves. Her clothing brand A Curve Story was born in 2019. The brand focuses on aesthetics and wearability while on a mission to dismantle the “ideal body type” narrative set by the society and fashion industry. Tune in to listen to Akanksha’s journey in the industry, her favorite celebrities to work with, problems the unrealistic body standards cause and tips to boost confidence.
About: Akanksha started her styling journey when she was just 18 and has a diploma in fashion design in Mumbai and has done a series of well synchronized courses from London College of Fashion; She pursued, breathed and lived Fashion & style since my formative years! After completing a formal education, She went on to work as an assistant to a renowned stylist in the industry. She has worked with Bollywood fashion icons such as Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Ayushmann Khurana, and many others.
Her accessible and inclusive clothing brand A Curve Story was born in 2019. to make fashion accessible, inclusive, and inter-sectional. It celebrates every body type and carries stylish outfits from sizes UK 8-30. A Curve Story- stands for all things natural, being comfortable in your own skin, body positivity and inclusivity.
With her brand, Akanksha is on a mission to dismantle the “ideal body type” narrative that marginalizes people in bodies that deviate from the unrealistic standards set by society and the high-fashion industry.
