The trendy topic for a thankful Thursday is knowledge of factors affecting drug metabolism or drug biotransformation. The most important ones are age, genetic variations, diet, food, nutrition components , drug interactions and pathological states.
While not much of great importance are the factors like sex, race, species etc. though I have given examples of animal models for these too, but primarily keep the above points in mind as they form the pillar factors causing sea changes in biotransformation or metabolism for lot many drugs! With this set of factors, we officially finish the discussions about drug metabolism or drug biotransformation and our jet plane heads while soaring high in sky towards the last pillar of pharmacokinetics i.e. Drug Elimination, Wow! the News is that from next episode we gonna begin Kinetics of Drug Elimination!!
