About Dr Tan Jie Lun
Dr Tan Jie Lun is the project manager (Additive Manufacturing) for ShipParts.com. He graduated with a Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University. His research was focused on multi-material using Laser Powder Bed Fusion. He was part of a joint lab collaboration between the Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) and SLM Solutions.
With ShipParts.com’s vision to digitalize the maritime supply chain, AM is one of the key focuses, allowing marine spare parts to be stored in a secure digital inventory and printed on-demand, in any location with AM machines. ShipParts.com is collaborating with its partners to build a secure ecosystem for AM to protect the intellectual property rights of the manufacturers. As a project manager, Dr Tan oversees several industrial projects for AM, including a project to qualify a marine spare part and AM facility with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Nanyang Polytechnic. He is dedicated to helping the Marine & Offshore industry to realize the potential of AM.
