As 2023 draws to a close, the commencement of the new year provides an opportune moment for setting goals and resolutions. StoryMirror extends an invitation to you, urging you to embrace a weekly writing commitment and join a community of like-minded writers dedicated to the same endeavor.

We are thrilled to announce the commencement of the sixth season of the 52-Week Writing Challenge - 2024 (Edition 7). Participating in this competition promises to elevate your writing skills and enhance your creative endurance with the invaluable support of a community of fellow writers.

What's new in this season?

Each month will be dedicated to a specific theme, encouraging participants to focus their submissions on that theme for the entire month.

Whether you prefer crafting short stories, composing poetry, or maintaining a journal, this challenge is designed to stretch your imagination and provide inspiration for a myriad of writing topics.

However, it's essential to note that these themes are optional, and participants are free to choose their own themes if they prefer.

1. January Month - Genre Gala: Choose any random genre (e.g., science fiction, romance, mystery, horror, fantasy) for the entire month and craft your content within that genre. Ensure that each submission this month explores a different genre.

2. February Month - Character Chronicles Meet a new character every week for this month. Explore their past, present, and future as you weave tales that bring this character to life in various settings and scenarios.

3. March Month - Writing Through the Rainbow

Assign a color to each week of this month, and let it influence your submission. Dive into the symbolism, emotions, and imagery associated with each color. 

4. April Month - Everyday Joys

Write about the small and simple pleasures in life for this month. Explore moments of happiness, gratitude, and contentment in everyday experiences. 

5. May Month - Stories from Your Hometown

Share tales inspired by your local community or hometown. Celebrate the charm, quirks, and uniqueness of the place you call home. 

6. June Month - Color Palette Chronicles

Pick a color each week and incorporate it into your story. Explore the emotions, symbolism, and associations tied to each color. 

7. July Month - Dream Diary

Write content inspired by your dreams or those of others. Dive into the surreal and fantastical elements that dreams often bring. 

8. August Month - Pet Tales

Share content inspired by pets or animals. Explore the bond between humans and animals or create fictional content featuring lovable companions.

9. September Month - Nature's Narratives

Connect with nature by setting your stories in outdoor settings. Explore the beauty of landscapes, the magic of forests, or the tranquility of water bodies.

10. October Month - Bookish Adventures

Center your content around books and recreate the stories or characters within them. Immerse yourself in the literary world, exploring the magic and imagination found within the pages of a book.

11. November Month - Tales of Discovery

Center your stories around the theme of lost and found. Explore the emotions, lessons, and joys associated with discovering something valuable.

12. December - Festival Chronicles

Write your content inspired by different festivals celebrated around the world, capturing the spirit, traditions, and emotions associated with these events.

 Rules:

1. Participants need to submit either 52 stories or 52 poems consecutively for 52 weeks, i.e., 1 content under the respective category (story/poem) every week.

2. For example, If you are starting your submission from the 3rd week of January 2023, you can submit up to the 3rd week of January 2024.

3. Participants can register for different categories (story/poem). However, each set of 52 submissions should be under the same category of either story or poem.

4. There should not be any break in submission once the writer starts submitting under this contest. they will be disqualified if there is a break.

5. Winners will be decided on the basis of number of reads & number of likes on their submissions and editorial scores. This will be the cumulative score for all 52 submissions.

6. The decision of StoryMirror will be final and binding on all participants.

7. There is no participation fee.

Prizes:

1. 2 Winners of each language (1 story + 1 poem) will get a chance to publish their book in physical form through StoryMirror.

2.On completion of 13 weeks: Digital Certificate (1/4th of the journey)

3.On Completion of 26 weeks i.e 1/2 of the journey: You will receive a StoryMirror shop voucher worth Rs. 100 and a 10% discount on StoryMirror publishing packages.

4.On Completion of 39 weeks, i.e 3/4 of the journey: You will receive a StoryMirror shop voucher worth Rs. 200 and a 15% discount on StoryMirror publishing packages.

5.On completion of 52 weeks: StoryMirror launches your E-book + Certificate

6. Top 10 participants across all languages who submit the highest content will receive a free book from StoryMirror and a physical certificate.

Languages: English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Odia & Bangla.

Note: If you are submitting for multiple languages, you need to submit 52 contents separately in each language.
