The Greedy King

Once upon a time there was a king who ruled a kingdom in England. He was loved by all his subjects for he ruled the kingdom fairly and gave justice to everyone. They all loved all his qualities except one. He was very greedy and was not happy with how much money or gold he had, he still always wanted more.

One fine day, he went to the kingdom wizard and told him, "Find me a spell that will make me rich."

The wizard replied, " Your Majesty, there is one such spell but it has one drawback that is why no one mostly uses it."

The king asked, "What is the drawback?"

The wizard replied, "Once used, the spell can't be turned back and make everything back to normal."

The king said, "I don't care just tell me the spell, all I want is to be rich only."

The wizard said, "Fine but don't come back to me telling to turn everything back. The spell is abaracadaba choo cchoo cho it will will turn everything you say to gold." The wizard performed the spell and the king merrily went off to eat supper.

The king sat down on the table to eat supper as soon as he touched his food everything turned into gold. The king with full of hunger had to go to bed on an empty stomach.

The next morning the king didn't go for breakfast as he needed to go to the court to take a session and give everyone justice. Before leaving for the court, his daughter came and hugged him but as soon as he touched her, she become a statue of gold. The king rushed to the wizard and pleaded him to change everything back to normal.

The wizard replied, "I can't do anything. I told you that the spell can't be reversed." The king started weeping and said, "Please turn my daughter back. She is everything to me and the heir of the kingdom."

The wizard chanted a spell and everything became back to normal. The king was shocked and asked, "What did you do?"

The wizard did not reply but just said, "I hope you learned your lesson." And walked away, leaving the king puzzled.

The king did learn his lesson but never could thank the wizard.
