They 'warned' me to face,

The best of my times,

The friends, the freedom,

Even the words that don't rhyme.

"But Lawyers are liars,

Don't you think?

Didn't you yourself face,

The snakes at their brinks?"

Yeah the snakes, the laughter,

And everything in between,

Even some teachers with faces of pandas,

But the blackest of hearts indeed!!

But the escape to the cafes,

To savour the munchy chocolates,

Are what would be etched,

In the tunnels of our heartlets.

The crush on that fresher,

Some one-sided affairs,

Some heartbreaking realisations,

Some self- esteemey flairs.

The sword of 3/4th attendance,

The restlessness that ensues,

The benches that become tablas,

With fingery drumsticks hues.

The brightly lit fests,

The chronicles of the internships,

The black and white formals,

With compulsory ten hardships.

Who doesn't already find,

A soulmate who clicks,

When 'she' wears a sari,

And 'he' is the one who trips?

No comparison, no regrets,

No baggage from the past,

The farewell even connects,

The hatred that doesn't last.

Oh yes they 'warned' me to face,
