The Unsent Letter

Last night would have been like other ordinary nights,

Should I sleep or read was a toughest choice.

Took a book from the shelf and was engrossed in reading,

We need some rest my eyes were pleading

Decided to sleep after reading next two pages ,

But a thing between the pages took me to ages.

There was a small piece of writing, which I once wrote happily.

It was something because of which my last night was not ordinary.

It was a letter written to my best friend on friendship Day

With each and every word, memories drifted me away

Some misunderstanding that day stopped me from sending it,

I would have sent it on friendship Day was still a guilt.

Suddenly captured the photograph of letter

Was trying to send it, but realised something

Once top most number in call list

Was now the top most number in block list

Whenever I felt like our friendship is drifting away

My heart always used to say "please stay"

You need time to conquer the habits you had

But sometimes it makes you extremely sad

Was unable to sleep, again started reading

After a span of time I found myself sleeping
