I was sitting on my couch, when the doorbell rang;

I was thinking who it might be, but was interrupted by the rude bang.

I walked to the door to see who was there;

And to my misery, it was my great aunt Claire!

She walked inside and threw her bag, on my carpeted floor,

The stout, cake faced woman didn't even bother to close the door.

I decided to start out politely and told her that the guest room was to spare,

But for her coming to my house meant making my room her own lair.

She stalked towards my room with her plump legs, and a purse in her hand;

God save the little bed on which she would soon land.

She went to her room and slammed the door shut,

And I already had a scary feeling twisting my gut.

Finishing my daily chores, curiosity struck me

I wanted to check the state of my favourite room, what plight it would be.

The room was a catastrophe, mirror decorated with lipstick;

The pungent smell filling the room had already made me sick.

The floor was strewn with clothes and I could hear noises from shower room;

I bet she was making more plans of creating doom.

I had, had enough, I decided to send her away;

By using an old prank to bring an end to my aunt Claire's stay.

The old toy trunk was now open and out came the stuffed scary bat,

And while the tormenting woman was still in the bath, I put the scary creature in her hat.

I slipped out of her room and decided to pry

And waited, and waited till I heard her a cry, Good bye

Sheer joy was it to hear that lady wail

Who had destroyed your house was on her way to rail.
