Manni and Vikki fun-loving, adventurous class-fellows had joined a mountaineering institute during their vacations. They were part of a large group of youngsters who were being trained in trekking tough terrains, rock-climbing, sledging, skiing on high snowy slopes etc. any activity associated with mountaineering. Every activity demanded team work and the whole group had developed healthy team spirit. Living 24 hours together they drew quite close to one another.

One fine day the group started trekking higher snowy tracks. All of them stuck to one another and were focused on safe trekking. The scenic beauty was simply mesmerizing as if the celestial nature was also happy to have young, boisterous, chirping birds like youngsters in her lap. Manni and Vikki awestruck by the spellbinding beauty found the weather very pleasant and so conducive that without telling anybody around, both of them drifted away from the group and starting exploring the unknown zone on their own. Suddenly the weather took a turn and it became ferocious. First it started with high velocity winds, then rains and then it started snowing heavily. Soon a heavy snow storm covered the whole area and they lost their way. It was a tedious climb with no respite from snow storm, no point of return back and no shelter in the vicinity.

The day light was replaced by total darkness with thick clouds and heavy snowfall. Nothing was visible. In poor visibility they had lost their way with no help around. All the surroundings gave hostile look making it very scary.

Belonging to traditionally religious families, Manni and Vikki were brought up to be ever thankful to Almighty and have unwavering faith in God to show them ways whenever facing any adverse situations. Giving knowing look to assure eachother to set aside the fear of getting lost, both of them remained confident of God's judgement. They didn't lose hope. Tucked under a small natural snowy igloo, lost in their thoughts, they kept praying silently and hoping for snow-storm to subside.

Soon from nowhere a child appeared with two pairs of specific mountain footwear in his hands and gave them. He told them to wear those footwears on the plea that wearing such footwear would make their journey in tough terrain easier. He asked them about their destination. They told him about their trekking adventure and how they had drifted away from their group and how they had lost their way.. He smiled and asked them to follow him. Wearing the footwear given by that child, Manni and Vikki felt comfortable and started following him. He put them on the right track which was now not very far from the group base. Soon the search party looking for them also reached there and took them to safe comfortable zone. Heaving a sigh of relief, Manni and Vikki looked for the child who had guided them on the right path. They could not know whether the child was she or he. They were not sure of his gender. They presumed the child to be a boy inhabitant of that area, habitual of experiencing such weather and who happened to be just wandering around there that time. They felt profusely obligated to him for saving their lives. They wanted to thank him but he was not to be seen anywhere. He had just disappeared after bringing them to safer place.

Both of them completed their mountaineering course very with distinction and returned home safely. This story of that child helping them in that ferocious weather kept weighing their minds for many years to come and they would always feel solace in the belief that it was God who in the form of a child had come to bless them, rescue them and put them on right track. Both of them were highly emancipated, intelligent youngsters with scientific bent of mind and they did become renowned scientists in their chosen field. Their belief in Supreme Power never dwindled. It remained unshaken. Theirs was a miraculous escape and such life saving miracles happen only in divine presence. This event confirming presence of a Supreme Power was repeatedly narrated to all family and friends to instill that feeling of Unshaken Faith in Supreme Power. Well... pertinent to mention that it did impress on the minds in due course.
