It was dark. Keshav walked fast. He then realized that he had lost his way and after walking for few hours, he came to a T-point road. He was dilemma whether to go right or left. He knew the whole route if he traveled left but it would take at least 2 hours of journey. Whereas he could have taken right road, but there was hovering which read, “DANGER! The road lying on the right side might make your journey shorter but far more scarier”. Since Keshav wanted to reach fast and did not believed anything of that sort, he decided to take the right road and started walking in the right road.


At first, he was a little scared, but then he started to liking the place. The trees were overgrown and the moonlight made the place peaceful and charming. He could make out the different flowers blooming there. By the time he covered half journey, he forgot the warning and was walking happily.


Just then, at a distance he found a boy sitting beside a tree. As Keshav came nearer, he could hear him crying with his face bend and a lantern beside him. Keshav felt pity and went up to the boy and inquired of his crying. But the boy neither looked at Keshav nor did he reply to him.


When Keshav looked at the boy properly, he was surprised to find that the boy was wearing woolen clothes in this hot season. When Keshav repeatedly asked the boy, the boy said that he wanted to get out of this place. Keshav told the boy that he can get him out of this place. The boy agreed but then also Keshav could not make out the looks of the boy looked as his clothes had completely hid him.


The boy started walked with his face bent along with Keshav. Keshav was a very curious person and asked when he got lost in this lonely place. Then the boy replied that one day he was having a picnic in the same place and when he was about to go, somebody hit him in his back hard. From that day, he had always been here. The boy also added that it has been 50 years, 16 months and 3 days ever since he lived here. After hearing all this, Keshav could feel his body trembling and had a last look at the boy, Keshav ran for his life and at last reached his home safety.


From that day, Keshav never went there and always considered the episode as a nightmare. Even though no one believed Keshav ’s story but at the same time, they were themselves conscious whenever they saw that road.
