Epictetus

Epictetus was a Geek philosopher who used to say I exist separately from by body. Anybody can kill my body but not me. In order to test him when his King ordered to break his leg he kept laughing and also advised his king how his legs could easily be broken during this process. He advised the king the ways how his legs could easily be broken. Ultimately his legs were broken and he kept on laughing. He made everybody stunned. He was not only preaching the truth but was actually living it.

Epictetus was one of those mystics of the Western World who matches the height of Eastern yogi. What makes Epictetus different from other philosophers of world is that he was epitome of truth. There was no any difference between his words and deeds. He said that he existence has got nothing to do with his body. His body would be broken but he will also see it that his body was being broken and not him. A very rare category of philosopher saint.
