Regret
Regret
I saw an old couple
In my new neighbourhood,
Lost in the eyes
of each other,
Just Like any young couple
Whenever I saw them,
They would treat me like
Their kid
With a hug and a kiss.
I thought how lucky
Their child might be
To still have parents like this;
But one day I went
To their home uninvited
And saw how their
Child treated them like
Some ordinary help;
I decided to take them
Along with me
But they stopped me saying
"No matter what others
Might say,but it's our child
He won't stay this way long.
We have our trust in him,
To turn his way soon."
I couldn't say much
And left the place
Looking forlorn;
How can parents
Have such blind trust
On a child, who treat them such.
Few months later
I saw them again,
I was left baffled
With the view In front,
The same child
Was laying on their lap
And asking for forgiveness
For his unforgivable deed;
This is the power
Of the parents trust,
Only they have the courage
To bear a child's brunt;
This never ending love
Can only be given by them
But by the time we realise our mistake
It's too late to do much, except to regret!
