Our Earth

Our Earth was formed a billion years ago,

And there was heat high and low;

Soon after, it began to rain,

And took away all the heat and pain;

Then formed the big and small creatures,

With their own, lovely, unique features;

Then came the flower, fish and the tree,

Who were bound to live, Oh so free!

Soon came the dinos who were carnivores,

Who sometimes ate the herbivores!

Later a meteor crashed on our Earth's face,

Wiping out the dinosaur race.

Then came the apes who walked on four limbs,

Who sometimes were mischievous imps;

They easily scaled tree after tree,

And they checked out everything that they would see!

Soon the apes evolved into human

Who laughed and cried and had lots of fun!

Then was born the word called love,

Also came the phrase "as peaceful as a dove".

Soon grew a concrete jungle, there were buildings galore,

Then trash started collecting on the floor;

Then we discovered plastic, who contributed in pollution,

We say 'Do this!', 'Do that!'; but we don't take true action;

Now even natural resources are becoming very scarce,

People don't care about pooling cars;

Come on dear friends for there is time,

Let's save the Earth, and not pay the fine;

'How can we do that?', you may question us,

Let's follow these measures without a fuss;

We can do more carpooling

As technologies are advancing

To make bigger cars. There will be more room,

And everyone will carpool very soon!

For kids, they can stop bursting crackers,

And protect little animals, furless and with fur;

We can plant more trees as they give us oxygen

And will help us reduce this horrible condition.

When trees are planted, Earth will be so green,

It'll be the loveliest planet ever seen!
