Night Showers
Night Showers
When the twilight thickened to darkness
When the breeze swirled to strong winds
The drizzle turned showers to lash at the earth
As the first splash of night showers spattered my face
I started running towards my abode
Amidst the darkness and the strikes of lightning
She appeared like a silhouette at the secluded corridor
Offering resistance to my stretched hands, her rosy lips quivered
How delayed are you? Were you romancing the rains?
When my ocean is here, why should I chase the droplets of rain, dear?
I mumbled
The flash of lightning showed up her curves
The sudden crash of thunder gave her a shudder
Her long hands encircled my waist
Her soft face dug into my chest
Her cascading tresses flowed like a river in spate
My trembling hands lifted her face
She closed her eyes
I kissed her forehead
Her fingers furrowed tunnels at my back
My lips moved down her cheeks
As I was about to drink the nectar from her lips
She trembled; her voice went low and husky
“Someone is watching us from outside…”
Seeing her blushed face, I said
“It is not one, but two…
The cupid and the full-moon who is jealous of you”
Sealing her lips with mine, I shut the door
A blissful whiff of cold air sneakily entered
Only to caress our ignited, entwined bodies
And the breeze put out the dimly lit oil lamp.
