Mom!

The first womb to keep me safe 

So lite and happy 

The first arms to hold me 

So tender and dear 

And make me feel safe 

when I was in fear 

The first one to comfort me

When I felt alone 

And be by my side 

Or spend hours on the phone to just be with me 

The first one to teach me 

The lessons in life 

And guide me through troubles

Through pain and through strife 

The first one to coach me 

The first one to cheer, 

When I needed a pep talk 

She would always be near  

The first eyes to see me 

Imperfections and all ,

Show me love and acceptance 

And help me stand tall 

The first one I look to 

When I needed a friend 

The first advice I seek 

When my hearts in the mend 

The first hero I had 

The first saviour I knew 

The first doctor, protector and counsellor too 

The first person I think off 

When making a choice 

Whether near me or far 

I can still hear her voice 

The first one is speak of 

Is so special you see

 

For without fear

The world would look different to me 

So today on Mother's Day 

I just wanna say 

Thank You For everything!
