Empathy,

One of the toughest emotions

I can think of and yet

Most people brush it off

As being weak and sentimental.

Empathy,

To feel the pain of somebody

You may never even get to know or see,

To vicariously live that pain

Could even make a stone go numb.

Empathy,

The most powerful virtue

One can possess in our times,

That stands to change

Millions of precarious lives.

Empathy,

The one thing that

Stops the human race

From reducing to the

The savagery of the wild.
