Day Away From My Phone

Day Away From My Phone

It must be hard to believe,

A truth if I told,

A day, I was, without my phone.

Ah, yes! It’s true.

Forgot did I, on my bed,

My precious, and went to pass the day,

In the office and lost in work.

Slipped off my eyes, I did off the screen,

To realise, no phone with me for today.

Tensed I was, ’oh my!’, I called to myself.

But nevertheless, went ahead to the work’s abode.

Bilateral was my brains,

Failing to understand a day that wasn’t without a phone in hand.

Why so precious, if I may ask,

There are lots to the answers, that are to come.

Some to call out, are of the reminders that you set, waking up your mornings,

To having cabs booked, driving to your destinations.

Calender invites to make, calls to receive, tweets to la la land and update a status.

So much was a miss, if a little more I could relate.

A state of mind to coincide, a day without phone, a distress call to attempt.

May a day you seek, swollen apart, but a strange peace of functional brain,

Away from distractions and calls from bright lit ideas.

A day to keep, in the place where things, ironically meet.
