Dark Night
Dark Night
I have beheld the night, relentless and vast,
As souls are chased through tempests of despair.
Our lineage dragged into the mire of sorrow,
By the merciless hounds of unbridled cruelty.
I have heard voices shatter the silence,
Cries for deliverance, yet met with void—
Perhaps it is the fate of our motherland,
Yet still survives a fragile ember, called humanity.
Within my heart, this anguish takes root,
Yet unwavering, I cling to dawn’s promise— The hour when a lone bird shall herald triumph,
And the nightingale weave hymns of sweetest grace.
At times I question the weight of my name,
A stranger exiled in the soil of my birth,
Dwelling as an alien in my own homeland,
Yet still I dream of the day I belong.
