A Box of Smiles

Today morning, a package arrived

I opened it to find, a box full of smiles

I don’t know who sent it, or it came from where

I gave one smile

To everyone in my house

Few to my friends, and neighbours

But still there were more…

The remaining smiles

I took them to work

Gave one to the driver

The watchman, the lift operator

The canteen boy, the housekeeping maid

My co-workers, clients, boss

But still there were more…

I went to the park

Gave one to the small girl

The ice-cream seller, the gardener

The stray dog wagging its tail

Whole day I kept giving

A smile from the box

But still there were more…

Tomorrow I start again
