WHO AM I?
I am the one who belongs to a land where stories abound, and exaggeration, symbols, and metaphors are an integral part of the cultural language, a place where it would appear entirely reasonable to claim animation and make it our own. Animation lends itself perfectly to direct communication without barriers of language or cultural differences. It is the language of imagination, and India is a country of myths and fantasy and I am on the path of becoming an animator, a storyteller.
I am an animator who is searching for answers to these questions in our country. It is sometimes very difficult to present oneself to the world. I am a Digital media arts student majorly doing animation. Animation has a lot of options may it 3D, 2D, and others but I am a lot into experimental animation and animation research which I recently discovered.
My art works are made with an in depth research of the topic I want to make my final output on. According to me I think that as an Artist I am answerable to my audience or the people who are viewing my content. Therefore I believe in doing a core research on the topic I am working on.
Mythology has always been my area of interest. I have almost dissected the whole of Mahabharata and the Ramayana. Being an animator I am also
a storyteller and India is filled with such beautiful stories, which we need to dig out. To understand the predicament of animation industry, I have done paper on the same topic.
I love creating and exploring stories that are hidden in some house in a small village like in kutch. My work is mostly hand done as I think that the textures and feel that can be obtained in hand work can never be done on a digital screen.
I want to tell people stories that never been told , I want to blend cultures , invent techniques
( sometimes make it more difficult or even find
alternatives for the same technique). I want to be an excavator , who excavates and display long lost nartives.I focus a lot on techniques and the question why I am using a particular technique for that piece I am creating.
What is the state-of- being and how do I tell these stories? Read less
