Today let's learn about a very crucial topic that every child must be educated, to save them from child sexual abuse or any kind of violence against children. Grooming! Grooming is the act of giving any kind of greed like chocolates or treats, that would fascinate the child, or, making false promises of taking the child to a nearby park, places the child would love to be, or even showing pets like dogs, that the child would love to be with and luring the child to untoward acts and making them believe that they would have fun doing the activity with the groomer, at the expense of their trust towards the groomer. The person who practices this is the groomer and the child is the victim. The groomer, at times also grooms the child by threatening them and saying that they would hurt their parents or loved ones if they report the abuse to the elders they trust. The child must be beware and be confident that the elders at home, such as parents, grandparents and elder siblings who can understand and convey the issue to the adult, must be trusted and no one can harm the child’s parents. The child must understand that any act by even a trusted individual that makes the child uncomfortable, must be reported to their parents, teachers or any person, the child trusts.
