Introduction

What happens when diplomacy fails?

StoryMirror invites writers, thinkers, strategists, and thriller enthusiasts to explore one urgent question:

What would you do if a possible nuclear attack was minutes away — and the intelligence may be wrong?

Inspired by the high-stakes geopolitical themes of Miraged (The Nuclear Option) by L. Vinay Bhushan Reddy, this contest challenges you to step into the role of the ultimate decision-maker.

A country receives urgent intelligence:

A nuclear attack may be coming.

The information is not fully confirmed.

It could be true.

It could be wrong.

Time is running out.

You are the decision-maker.

Do you strike first?

Do you wait?

Do you trust uncertain intelligence?

Do you risk millions of lives?

This contest challenges you to write a short thriller story based on this high-stakes global situation.

Show us your strategic thinking.
