Title - My First Day at the Job

Introduction

What happens when the pursuit of success begins to cost your sanity?

StoryMirror invites working professionals, dreamers, and storytellers to explore a deeply urgent question:

What would you do if your career was soaring—but so was your burnout?

Inspired by the honest, humorous, and hard-hitting corporate journey of Corporate Cocktail - A Happy High by Tarishi Khanna, this contest challenges you to step into the shoes of a modern workplace protagonist.

This time, your story begins on a very specific day: your first day at the job.

A young professional walks into a new office for the very first time.

The nerves are real. The expectations are unclear.

The coffee machine is intimidating. The team is unknown.

Ambition whispers, "Impress everyone."

Anxiety whispers, "Don't mess up."

You are that young professional.

Do you fake confidence until you make it?

Do you ask for help and risk looking weak?

Do you set boundaries from day one – or say yes to everything?

This contest challenges you to write a short story based on your first day at a high-stakes corporate job – where ambition, identity, and well-being collide from the very first hour.

Show us your strategic thinking.

Show us your emotional depth.

Show us how you would survive – and maybe even thrive – on day one.
