We always need some good friends around us to make our life happy, enjoyable and meaningful. I also had those friends in my law school who were my study partners rather than outgoing partners. But, this didn’t mean that we did not have fun together. But, with time we started sharing both happy and sad days. Thanks to god that he sent some friends here to solve such puzzled subject “Law”. Law School days have its own trauma, pressure, deadlines, etc., which would not be possible to overcome without these people.

This is the story of three friends that first met in the library of law school. All three of them came to this college with one motive to make their parents proud and earn lots of money in future. Ha.ha.ha..! I suppose this everybody says. But, we were much determined about this and serious. Coming to law school was good but we were not aware whether this is the only profession that we wanted to pursue. We were still in the search of what is our potential? Is this is the only professional career that we always wanted? And many more.

But in order to survive in this hell place, it’s better to have good people with positive vibes around you. With each meeting, we were becoming good friends with understandable promises. We never chose to become friends, it just happened as it was bound to happen.

Palak S., who was a happy and easy-going girl, but emotional too. She was loyal, ambitious, and believed that life is a big project. She was the main hero, who makes boring subjects fun and easy for us. She was very committed to her responsibilities and once she commits to anything, she gives her 100% focus on that. She was a hard worker and very much focused on her aim in life. Another one was a little lazy and often gets scolding from her. But, he was a very loving, helpful, funny, flirty, sincere and genuine person. His name was Rakteem P. He was the one in the group who irritated and frustrated us. And when it comes to exams, he was the one who never gave a shit about it. Let me tell you about my role in the story. I, Kanusha, little introvert, sensitive, easy-going and the listener in this group. If any quarrel starts with them, most of the time I used to solve it. I’m a little shy I guess but after meeting Palak, she made me more courageous and brave. We were very happy together and loved the company of each other.

During exams the role of this friendship suddenly gets active. We together not only had fun, dedication, seriousness, but also had fights within us. I and she used to attend classes, but he didn’t. So, our main challenge was to make him understand everything first. She used to make a schedule as to how we should proceed and study every module and finish it in proper time.

Before one week we would start our study together, and before that, we would study alone and make notes that will benefit us. I and Palak were known to be studious in the college.

I: ‘What we have to study now, how we have to start, do we need to study from books also?’.

She: Do not take tension, class notes are enough, but the subjects in which teachers have asked us to read little more, we will read and makes notes from the internet.

He: Do we need to read this much only.

But, when it came to reading, he was one who would not concentrate and half time will always be busy on phone. Palak sometimes got irritated because of it. Also when Palak reads she used to remember things easily. Therefore, she used to make us understand and simultaneously to herself also. Many times he made the statement that “Why to learn each and every word, we can just simply read and understand and write in our own language in the exam”. And she used to reply that, “in order to write a proper answer we should learn some keywords at least”. With their fight, our study also used to get delayed and I kept enjoying this all. And because of him, we completed our study later than others. She always made this comment that “All because of you (Rakteem) only, we complete our syllabus later than others.” But, when we do revision there we noted that this portion was so small. We used questions ourselves that, “we could have completed much early.” In between, when we used to lose our focus or we didn’t want to study, it was Palak's motivational dialogue that kept us awake and helped us get back our focus and attention.

Our library timing was till 2:00 P.M., we used it completely and anyhow we completed the modules by that time. And then, Palak took a promise from him that he will revise everything in the morning, otherwise what we read now would not make any sense. After saying goodnight and all the best to each other, we went to our rooms and slept with the aim that we will wake up in the morning and revise everything. I and Palak were in the girl’s hostel therefore, we revised everything together. But, the problem was with him. We used to call him and wake him up for the revision.

After writing exams, we used to discuss the question paper and always say that “I could have done better.” And I used to make her calm and say, “No worry. Let’s focus on the next upcoming exam.” And he said that “You both made me read everything, the question was so easy. We could have read only the easiest part and left the hard ones.” Then she used to say, “We do not know the question paper, therefore it is good to read everything.” Most of the times I always used to be in favor of Palak. But, when I supported Rakteem, she made unusual faces.

At the end of the exam, we saw that almost all 3 of us got the same marks. And there we made a conclusion that he had brains but sometimes he doesn’t want to use it. This group again met in the next exam with the promise that we will work harder than earlier one. This bond of friendship became more and more strong with every exam that came as an obstacle in this Law school.

But finally, after giving so many exams, we concluded that it’s not the marks that set our future but it’s the knowledge that takes us a long way ahead.
