It was the year 1990 when particular community in Kashmir were forced to migrate after issuing threatening letters and subsequent killing of leaders and other like minded people. Of Kashmiri pandits who are original inhabitants of Kashmir. The fundamentalists were raising their ugly heads and using loudspeakers to harass the community by shouting religious slogans. Kashmiri pandits were left with no option except to migrate from Kashmir en mass. During night people packed their baggage and boarded vehicles to leave Kashmir preferable during night to avoid abuses, harassment and stone pelting.

Kashmiri pandits migrated to different places like Jammu, Delhi etc.There faced lot of problems relating to human issues. They stayed in tents with minimum amenities. They depended on govt relief for their survival. Many lots their lives by snake bites, sun strokes and falling prey to diseases due to unhygienic conditions.Many became victims of depression.unemployed and students suffered enormously. Education standard declined. There were no toppers from the community. Unemployed were sad and helpless. Because of unemployment late marriages took place as a result of which drop in population took place No political came forward to help the community.because of low potential of vote bank being a minority community The condition was quite deplorable. Old people knowing only local Kashmiri language were feeling uncomfortable when conversing with local population of the places were Kashmiri pandits migrated. All these factors contributed to unforgettable pain of migration which effected all of different ages.
